‘Green Living’ Standard

Allan Hoult Building has recently achieved accreditation as of the few custom builders in Melbourne certified to the new Master Builders Association ‘Green Living’ standard.

This qualification means that clients who choose to build with me can be comfortable that their builder has the knowledge and experience to advise them on the best ways to build both smart and green.

I believe that Green Living and green building means more than just ticking boxes to reduce carbon emissions or achieve energy rating stars. The right research and the right design will actually save you significant money over the life of the home, as well as adding to your quality of life and enjoyment of your new home.

The concept of the ‘House as a System’ was developed 30 years ago in the harsh and variable Canadian climate and involves exactly as the name says – viewing your house design as an integrated environment. For Allan Hoult Building this means building a house that is:
